Decolonial Leadership

In "Decolonial Leadership: From a Local and Hegemonic Paradigm Toward a Global and Intercultural Perspective of the Field," Antonio Jimenez-Luque's "asks us to reexamine our mindsets toward decolonizing leadership" and move toward a new perspective that "values knowledges and epistemologies of critical thinkers from non-Western parts of the world and contributes to broadening the field of leadership toward a global and intercultural perspective." Column editors Joseph Trimble and Jean Lau Chin introduce the article.

The Winter/Summer Institute

Katt Lissard takes readers on a journey with The Winter/Summer Institute (WSI), an applied theatre project focused on social change, whose work began as a response to the devastating HIV/AIDS pandemic in sub-Saharan Africa. Lissard walks us through WSI's collaborative, community process and demonstrates that "the process itself is fundamental to art and to social change." Grassroots Leadership and the Arts for Social Change corner editor Susan J. Erenrich frames the piece with a short introduction.

Cyn Cherrey Speaking at WSummit
 
Defining Leadership

ILA President & CEO Cynthia Cherrey was honored to give a keynote presentation focused on "Defining Leadership" at the De Beers WSummit, which took place in Botswana earlier this week. The WSummit "addresses a wide range of topics related to the status of women in Sub-Saharan Africa." The theme of this year’s summit was “Bridging Leadership & Purpose for Social Economic Impact.” Cherrey's talk is introduced at the 1:25 mark in the video, directly after the first lady of Botswana's address.
