WPBWaterfront.jpgExcitement Builds for West Palm Beach Conference

Notifications for ILA’s 20th anniversary global conference, Authentic Leadership for Progress, Peace & Prosperity went out 15 May.

With a wave of over 837 submissions for the ILA West Palm Beach conference, the selection process was quite challenging – certainly, not a walk on the beach!

Nearly 300 peer reviewers spent more than thousand collective hours deeply reading and thoughtfully reviewing about a dozen submissions each, providing helpful comments to both the submitters and the track chairs. Track chairs reviewed the recommendations from the double-blind peer review and considered each submission’s rankings as they developed a lineup that would best address the goals of their track. All agreed that one of the most challenging and rewarding part of the process was identifying how individual presentations could be logically grouped together to create interesting and useful sessions – and then creating authentic descriptive titles for these created sessions.

While most submissions were accepted under the format for which they were submitted, when space considerations prohibited this, the track chairs considered if a submission could alternatively work as a poster or a roundtable discussion. Throughout the process, ILA staff members provided training, support, and advice.

Congratulations to all who received notification that their submission was accepted and an ocean-full of gratitude to all those who submitted or contributed their time and expertise as a reviewer to the development of the 20th anniversary global conference program.
