How does Pinterest work?
If you’re not familiar with Pinterest, it’s essentially a social bookmarking site. The site visually presents an abundance of inspirational ideas and resources for its users. When a user sees an idea that interests them, they can “pin” the content to a board on their profile. This is such a useful way for users to access all their ideas in one location. Not only can users “pin” other users’ ideas, they can also create their own original content. In essence, Pinterest allows users to share their own ideas while also being inspired by the boards and users they follow. By following the ILA on Pinterest @the_ILA, you can see a selection of the ILA’s leadership resources including upcoming conference information, member publications, featured webinars, and more!
Pinterest is a unique platform that builds a creative community by allowing its users to interact and connect with people and organizations like them. On Pinterest, businesses can follow other organizations with similar interests and even collaborate on boards together. Pinterest actively encourages interaction and collaboration with more visual content than the average website. One of the best things about Pinterest is that content is continuously circulated, meaning that even a few months down the road the same content will be available for users to see and interact with.
Why is the ILA on Pinterest?
The ILA is on Pinterest because many of our members are on Pinterest! One of the primary goals of the ILA is to bring together those who study, teach, and practice leadership. Being active on Pinterest, where some of our members already spend their time, will help us achieve that goal. It will also allow the ILA to collect relevant and helpful leadership resources in an easy to use place. The ILA Pinterest will serve as a visual hub for all things related to the ILA’s mission and vision. We hope that ILA’s members and friends will share their thoughts and ideas and see Pinterest as a place to interact within our leadership community.
How does Instagram work?
Instagram is a social networking application (app) where people can easily share photo and video content and follow other people they are interested in. One of the best things about Instagram is its global reach. It’s easy to connect with others visually and see photos from people and places around the world. People can interact with one another by liking and commenting on each other’s pictures and videos. Instagram is a great way to engage an audience and to allow people to see what you are capturing while informing others as well. Be sure to follow our Instagram account @leadershipnexus for photos from past conferences, current ILA events, and other ILA news!
Why is ILA on Instagram?
For non-members, Instagram is a great way to see what the ILA is all about and how membership could benefit them in their career. Using intriguing and aesthetically pleasing photos featuring ILA’s offerings will encourage engagement and help spread the word about the association.
Finally, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary global conference this October, we would love to connect with you on Instagram and share photographs from past ILA events!
